The best is to get lost is an approximation, in tones of blue, to a “Third Landscape”: a residual space, a hermitage for spontaneous flora. The marks of earth and sky lost on paper, pave the way for the poetry of Bernarda Lacerda (1634) and together we imagine what life would be like for the forgotten in the “Desert” of Bussaco. A place that was also forbidden to women.
